You like colourful, detailed, comfortable clothes with a certain hippie charm? Do you want it to be fair and sustainable? Then Tranquillo is the right place for you!
The small but nice label from Dresden offers you a wonderful assortment of colourful and fancy clothes for women and toddlers - it is obvious that only fair traded organic cotton is used, which is especially comfortable on your skin.
From a small store to a fashion brand
Once Tranquillo was just a small second-hand shop in Dresden, where you could find all kinds of used clothes as well as various small items from all over the world, which were suitable as gifts and souvenirs for especially dear people.
However, Christian Amthor and Michael Kremer, who have been running Tranquillo together since 2003, had set themselves a new goal: to make everything even more colourful and sustainable - fair organic fashion should it be! After some time their vision took shape and the two soon began to develop lifestyle and fashion collections together. In order to expand their assortment and reach, they began to supply other retailers and stores with their products. The Tranquillo brand became better known and more popular and continues to grow and develop. So we at GREENALITY are very happy to introduce this brand to you now!
Organic cotton - good for your skin, good for the environment
Ecologically sensible materials are particularly important for sustainable fashion. Tranquillo uses mainly organic cotton, as it requires far less water and is therefore much more resource-friendly than conventionally grown cotton. In addition, organic cotton is also more skin-friendly and environmentally friendly as it is grown without the use of toxic pesticides, herbicides, genetically modified seeds and/or synthetic fertilisers. One of Tranquillo's concerns is also the longest possible shelf life of its products.
Warm, relaxed and fair dealings with the producers
Many of Tranquillo's products are certified with the GOTS seal, which assures you of an environmentally conscious and sustainable clothing manufacturing process, fair working conditions and payments, and certain safety and hygiene standards in the factories. However, not only the organic cotton and garments carry the seal, the company itself has also received the certification. The production chain is therefore completely closed and sustainability aspects are achieved at every level. Through many years of experience and trusted cooperation with the same producers and tailors, active improvements in working conditions and product quality can always be achieved. Several times a year, the people of Tranquillo now personally visit the companies and the production conditions and inspect each company before cooperating with them.
The Zero-Waste Principle at a glance
Tranquillo uses up leftover fabric in the following seasons by designing and tailoring individual pieces. This is intended to be an approximation to the zero-waste principle, which is to be continually developed and expanded. As a rule, the most environmentally friendly and efficient option should also be used for the transport of the products, which is why air freight is only rarely used. Boxes and packaging are used as often as possible and then recycled. Catalogues and flyers are also printed on recycled paper. Quite ecological, isn't it?
